Deep Sleepers—Week 3

If you play in a deep league and have matchup dilemmas or a bye week issue, take a look at these Week 3 Deep Sleepers (Formerly Emergency Starters). This list consists of players that can provide a one-week boost based on their respective matchup.

Quarterback

Matt Linehan, Idaho @ Washington State
Linehan should get a lot of opportunities to air it out against the Cougars.
Mylik Mitchell, Kent State v Monmouth
Mitchell threw three TD passes last week against NC A&T and gets another FCS opponent in Week 3.

Running Backs

Dontravious Wilson, Central Florida v Maryland
Wilson seems to be getting the majority of carries in the Knights’ backfield.
James Gilbert, Ball State v Eastern Kentucky
Expect the Cardinals to get the ground game going against EKU.
Alvin Kamara, Tennessee v Ohio
The Vols host Florida next week so I would not expect Hurd to get overworked against the Bobcats.

Receivers
Deric Phouthavong, Bowling Green v Middle Tennessee
The Falcons and Blue Raiders could put a ton of points on the board.
Andy Isabella, Massachusetts v Florida International
The Minutemen finally play down in competition so Isabella could be a Week 3 surprise.
Lucky Jackson, Western Kentucky v Miami (OH)
Jackson only needs a handful of opportunities to make an impact in the passing game.
Seth Collins, Oregon State v Idaho State
Collins may prove to be more productive than Jordan Villamin.
DeJuawn Oliver, Louisiana Tech @ Texas Tech
Don’t be surprised if the Bulldogs keep up with the Red Raiders.
